Studio

Bardel Studio

Bardel is one of the few studios in Canada to provide animation services in all of the major animation mediums - traditional, CG, Flash and Harmony. This unique capability follows Bardel's belief in selecting the most appealing medium for the story telling, and where necessary, developing efficient hybrid pipelines to take advantage of the best each software has to offer. Bardel also has strong relationships with many overseas studios, and is able to professionally control and monitor any remote production pipeline, efficiently and transparently, through the studio’s proprietary web based management software, . This software was developed in- house over a five year period, and has been given rave reviews from all of our clients and partners who have used it. We designed this software so that it is compatible with both digital 2D and CG production, totally scalable to the scope of the production and customizable for use on feature film, TV series and interactive content. Bardel’s tracking software has increased efficiencies on the production floor, allowing us to reduce costs, while facilitating greater communication and providing real time production status.

Interactive Media

Bardel’s interactive media work began in the 1990s. Early credits included working on products such as Winnie the Pooh’s Learning Series and Buzz Lightyear Grade 1 and Grade 2 for Disney Interactive. The relationship with Disney grew with work on feature film games for The Emperor’s New Groove and Atlantis. Over time, Bardel's interactive media portfolio expanded with projects that included Def Jam Vendetta for Electronic Arts and So You Wanna Be A Dino Finder for Cloud 9 Interactive.

Today, Bardel has taken interactive media to the next level through its Kid Riot Digital division. Kid Riot Digital launched its first virtual environment in beta in January 2010. This new virtual world and social networking site, TokiWorld, has attracted other organizations interested in either becoming TokiWorld partners or harnessing the knowledge and capabilities of the Kid Riot Digital team for service work on new interactive projects such as Seek Your Own Proof for Discovery Kids/CIE, and an update to the Vancouver H.R. MacMillan Space Centre’s interactive movie. Kid Riot has also expanded into the mobile sector, with the creation of an iPad game, All in a Hay’s Work. Bardel’s next proprietary interactive project, Appleton Park will launch later in2012.
